And we carry on...
So Shawn is in Mexico, and not impressed. Its all resorts and pouring rain...
But the up side is I got a call from him, via the SATphone. It was better then I have been told it would be. maybe because they where in Port and not bobbing around on the ocean.
So our week was busy as per norm...I like it that way no time to miss anyone.
Highlight of the week was Formation Funday and Today I did my very first 5K run...well walk/jog really. But I think it went well as I finnished in 42.55min.

Now an update...
Well we are done week 8 and moving on.
RIMPAC is all over for this year and the Ship is on its way to the next Port of Call...
I miss my Hubby but am glad he is done with Hawaii ...that State cost me/us a fortune....
Shawn has gotten all the crafts the kids have been doing at their Deplyment workshops.
We have not been up to too much.
We went to the beach...
We went to the second Sunday session and another great Dinner at St Pauls church in Esquimalt.
I now have everything set for Chile. Flights booked and 2 Hotels. one for Valparaiso and one for Santiago.
I hosted a coffe meeting and have another one in the works...lots of get info, about diffrent things.
Yesterday I had an intresting visiter...a Bullfrog. what makes it interesting is I live a ways from the water and she was on my deck...only way on is from the house or the carport

Another week ends with Swimming and the Park
I stole this Pic from MARPAC...lol
Shawn working on his gun...pretty much his third child.
Our week was pretty normal.
Other then I had Phaedra Babysitting this week as my reg. sitter was in ON for a week... the kids love her, but then I dont think you can meet her and not love her.
So we had a pretty busy Saturday morning.
Kids had swimming at Juan de Fuca and then we headed out to a Park in Esquimalt to hang with some fellow Alg Families.
We picked up a lunch for McDonald's and headed for the park...finding it was easy finding a parking spot not so much.Anyways it was a fun day but I got WAY too much sun and now have the burn to prove it...
So I have noticed that my kids are wearing the same outfits as last week...well Cameron has diffrent shorts on...

My Aunt sent me photos...so did Shawn.
First Shawn sent me a few pic's
Here he is enjoying his first Pukadog
Hunama Bay on the SE side of Oahu. It's a big snorkeling spot.
Now from my Aunt.
First me and Kittens
I would say this is about 1981-83 not sure, I just know its not 1980 as the hair cut is wrong, as you will see from the next pic.
Now I have no idea how I got inside with 4 kittens..as Gran rairly ever let kittens in the house.
My guess is an Aunt helped smuggle them in...and set up the photo shoot.
Lastly until she sends me more...
My Gran, my Aunt Mary and I

Day 10 Surfs Up!
So it has been 10 days sence Shawn left.
As of this Afternoon Our time they are in Hawaii...Shawn was proud to report he did not hit anything on his way in...no Pictures as its hard to operate a camera and steer.
This week I have booked my Flight to Chile, gone to the gym, taken the kids to the library, had the oil changed in the car, and of course bought more plants, ornamental and vegetable.
Most important next to booking the flights I sent in my Passport App, and Cameron's. No I'm not planing on leaving one child behind...but I apparently need the Long form of her Birth Cert. to complete Emily's...Anyways the kids are not going to Chile. I was just tring to kill 2 birds with 1 stone...did not work out..when the long form arrives I will go back and get hers too.
Another Highlight of the week was Deployment Wendsday...kids had their first Deployment workshop and then I had the Meet and Greet at CPAC. I think both went pretty good. Maybe I can find a Travel Buddy.

A quiet Saturday
So its just the little guy and I home today.
Emily is at Brownie Camp and Hubby is somewhere between here and there...
He e-mailed me to say he is worried about whether or not the Ship will make it to Chile, but to book the flight anyway and just make sure I get the insurance in case I have to can it.
He has been super busy as per norm at Sea for him 15-18 hr work days as the Gun and other kit was broken again, and he has to do Helm on top of the other parts of his job. Was upset that they booted him off the Boarding Team yet again as they where getting ready to do a run with the French...but I guess its hard to Board another ship (even for practice) while Driving a Destroyer...lol
Leaving June 14th
I did get to the gym 3 days this week and I am down 3lbs just 27 more to go...
I painted the mailbox and it turned out OK just look too close cause the paint is not sticking that great, or I should have waited longer to tape off for the next colour. You cant miss our house now...
Our other project this week was a Map to follow the Ship
I glued a huge paper map to a foam backer and nailed it to the wall in our Hallway.
We added pins to mark the Ports they will be visiting and made a Pin with the Ships crest to move along the Ocean...

And So He's Off...19 weeks to go!
We where up at 5:30 am to get ready to send Shawn off on a 19 week deployment.
I know I'm odd and I like to count weeks, not days or months. Days drag out WAAAAAAY too long and months just don't cover the sense if time waiting.. so weeks it is.
We had our normal parting..I like to treat it like any other day...not that we drop him off to work very often but its easier to say a simple good bye or rather see you later a quick kiss and drive away, then to drag it out until one or all starts to cry. Its hard enough with out starting out with a huge cry fest
I will have my reality check later in the week or month at about 3 am....
By 7:30 the kids and I where back home...then off to school for them and I droped by the MFRC to sign the kids up for the Deployment workshops.
I then went out to the Lagoon to watch the ship leave but as she did not leave untill after 10:20 I missed it...I got to see a number of Visiting ships head out.
For those not in the know this past weekend was the Fleet Review.
We where treated to a visit from ships from Australia, France, Japan, New Zealand and the USA.
